Akarnania, Leukas. Silver Stater c. 400-360 BC

£290.00

A silver Stater from Leukas in the region of Akarnania.

This example is nicely toned, and despite a somewhat ragged flan has well-preserved surfaces. On the obverse is Pegasos flying to left, with Λ beneath.

The reverse has an excellent portrait of Athena wearing a Corinthian helmet, with a dolphin mintmark behind.

Overall a great example of good weight and clear features; some deposits and a scratch to the reverse, otherwise, Very Fine.
